And a Happy New Year!

Shaina · January 1, 2011 · 13 Comments

Thank you all for being here with us in 2010. I’m so excited for what 2011 will bring here on Food for My Family, and all of us at the Olmanson household are looking forward to continue cooking and eating together and sharing it with you. We’ll be rolling out a few changes this weekend, which will hopefully go smoothly, beginning with some minimal design stuff, but first, I want to share the Top 5 Recipes on Food for My Family in 2010 based on views!

Chicken fried rice is still one of our favorite leftover meals. It comes together quickly and is perfect for using up extra vegetables and meat. Plus, it’s a meal the whole family enjoys.

I credit the popularity of the homemade pumpkin purée to my friends at Thermador, Cascadian Farm and, most of all, my dear friend Marla at Family Fresh Cooking for linking to it repeatedly.

Everyone loved the idea of filet mignon for Christmas dinner, and it showed. This would make a fantastic meal for Valentine’s Day or for a dinner party with friends.

While we didn’t get to visit the Joe Matos Cheese Factory to pick up a huge wheel of cheese in 2010, I’m hoping 2011 sends us there. The St. Jorges grilled cheese and basil sandwiches are divine, and the tomato basil soup pairs perfectly with them.

The most-viewed post on Food for My Family this year was for the chicken empanadas that were made to wish our friends Jen and Matt goodbye as they headed to Scotland for a year. We still miss them. Perhaps I’ll make a different variety of empanadas in 2011 for them when they come home.

Thanks for a great year!

It is so interesting what the top 5 reads are, isn’t it. Before Christmas, Butter Tarts was HUGE on my site as were my big fat gingerbread men. So interesting. I love your family photos in the black and white all decked out for winter fun. That is the way it should be! You are such a great mommy making such great memorable meals with and for your family. Here’s to an ever better, and more fruitful year… they just keep getting better and better.
    Hugs,
    Valerie
