{"id":9065,"date":"2011-06-05T00:30:42","date_gmt":"2011-06-05T05:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crankymouse.com\/?p=9065"},"modified":"2011-06-05T00:30:42","modified_gmt":"2011-06-05T05:30:42","slug":"salted-maple-grilled-bananas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crankymouse.com\/index.php\/2011\/06\/05\/salted-maple-grilled-bananas\/","title":{"rendered":"Salted Maple Grilled Bananas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>3 tablespoons maple sugar or dark brown sugar<br \/>\n2 tablespoons maple syrup<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated<br \/>\n1 pinch of kosher salt<br \/>\n3 bananas (just ripe with slightly green stems)<br \/>\n4 ounces dark chocolate (about 60% cocoa), melted<br \/>\n12 thin ginger cookies<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\">Light a grill and heat to around 500\u00b0 F. Mix together brown sugar, syrup, ginger and salt into a thick paste. Peel and slice each banana into four equal lengths and pierce each section with a bamboo skewer. Coat bananas with the mixture. <br clear=\"all\"><br \/>\nBrush clean and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Lay banana pieces onto the grill and allow the sugar mixture to caramelize for about two minutes, then rotate 1\/3 of the way around and continue grilling for another two minutes.  Rotate 1\/3 turn more and grill for a final two minutes.  Remove, dip in dark chocolate and set on a thin ginger cookie.
