I shared my <a href=\"https:\/\/crankymouse.com\/the-kitchen-sink\/eat-well-spend-less-menus-and-meal-planning\" target=\"_blank\">menu planning strategy<\/a> and how we lace together different meals and work to keep the amount of separate items we&#8217;re buying for one meal to a minimum. She covered the &#8220;wet&#8221; category, and I have to tell you my head spun as I scanned over her list.  There are so many ways you can save money just by making your own rather than buying the convenience product, and Aim\u00e9e illustrates this beautifully. Mandi shares how she rearranged her grocery budget to make sure they had more money set aside for plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, which currently make up 35-50% of their weekly budget.<\/p>\n<p><font color=darkcyan><\/p>\n<h2>Buying in Bulk and Long-Term Food Storage<\/h2>\n<p><\/font><br \/>\nTammy from Tammy&#8217;s Recipes covered the basics of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tammysrecipes.com\/eat_well_spend_less_part_1\" target=\"_blank\">buying in bulk and long-term food storage<\/a>. She followed that up by showing us how to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kitchenstewardship.com\/2011\/04\/05\/eat-well-spend-less-cutting-the-budget-on-whole-foods\/\" target=\"_blank\">reduce the budget when buying those whole foods<\/a> that can get expensive, especially if you&#8217;re looking for organics or pricey oils.<\/p>\n<p><font color=darkcyan><\/p>\n<h2>Avoid Expensive Ingredients<\/h2>\n<p><\/font><br \/>\nJessica shared how she went from spending $400 a month on groceries for two people to spending only $600 a month for a family of eight by <a href=\"http:\/\/lifeasmom.com\/2011\/04\/avoid-expensive-ingredients-to-eat-well-spend-less.html\" target=\"_blank\">avoiding expensive ingredients<\/a>. Her method of couponing is a far cry from the Extreme Couponing you&#8217;ll see on TV, and it&#8217;s geared towards saving on those healthy options you&#8217;re purchasing anyway.<\/p>\n<p><font color=darkcyan><\/p>\n<h2>Simple Steps To Get Started Using Coupons<\/h2>\n<p><\/font><br \/>\nCarrie lays out the basics in <a href=\"http:\/\/denverbargains.com\/2011\/04\/get-started-using-coupons\/\" target=\"_blank\">getting started with coupons<\/a> to save on the things your family uses, not just to get a deal and hoard closets full of shampoo and potato chips.  She also shares her strategy for shopping at multiple stores to get the best prices and menu planning based on those prices.<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\"><br \/>\nThis coming week we&#8217;ll be sharing meals that help us stay on track with our budget.
