{"id":7479,"date":"2011-01-08T02:07:22","date_gmt":"2011-01-08T07:07:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crankymouse.com\/?p=7479"},"modified":"2011-01-23T16:19:18","modified_gmt":"2011-01-23T21:19:18","slug":"steak-chili","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crankymouse.com\/index.php\/2011\/01\/08\/steak-chili\/","title":{"rendered":"Steak Chili"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2 tablespoons olive oil<br \/>\n2 pounds steak of your choice (we used tenderloin trimmings), cut into 1&#8243; pieces<br \/>\n4 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\n1 yellow onion, diced<br \/>\n2 medium tomatoes, diced<br \/>\n2-4 jalape\u00f1os, diced<br \/>\n4 tablespoons chili powder<br \/>\n3 teaspoons cumin<br \/>\n1 teaspoon coriander<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper<br \/>\n30 ounces (or so) crushed tomatoes<br \/>\n1 3-ounce can green chilies<br \/>\n3 cups cooked pinto beans<br \/>\n2 cups cooked navy beans<\/p>\n<p><br clear=\"all\">Heat oil in a large stockpot over medium-high heat.  Add in the steak pieces and sear.  Toss in the garlic, onion, tomatoes and jalape\u00f1os, as well as the chili powder, cumin, coriander and cayenne.  Saut\u00e9 for 5 minutes, and then add in the crushed tomatoes and green chilies.<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\">Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.  Add in pinto and navy beans and cook until heated through.
