{"id":6189,"date":"2010-08-13T10:58:55","date_gmt":"2010-08-13T15:58:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/crankymouse.com\/?p=6189"},"modified":"2010-08-13T11:09:57","modified_gmt":"2010-08-13T16:09:57","slug":"greek-chicken-gyros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crankymouse.com\/index.php\/2010\/08\/13\/greek-chicken-gyros\/","title":{"rendered":"Greek Chicken Gyros"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Greek Seasoning: <\/strong><br \/>\n2 teaspoons salt<br \/>\n2 teaspoons dried oregano<br \/>\n1 1\/2 teaspoons onion powder<br \/>\n2 teaspoons garlic powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cornstarch<br \/>\n1 teaspoon pepper<br \/>\n1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\">Mix together and store in the freezer until ready to use.<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\"><br \/>\n<strong>Chicken Gyros:<\/strong><br \/>\n2-3 chicken breasts<br \/>\n1\/4 cup Greek seasoning (above)<br \/>\n1 cup <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.babble.com\/family-kitchen\/2010\/07\/30\/homemade-tzatziki-for-gyros-falafel-pitas-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\">tzatziki<\/a><br \/>\nfresh oregano<br \/>\nfresh parsley<br \/>\n1\/2 white onion, thinly sliced<br \/>\n3 plum tomatoes, thinly sliced<br \/>\n6-8 pitas<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\">Rub chicken breasts with seasoning and grill, 5-7 minutes on each side until juices run clear.  Remove from grill and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.  Finely chop a tablespoon or two of the fresh herbs and sprinkle over the onions and tomatoes.
