\nI know, I’ve been somewhat absent lately. Not entirely, just more absent than I’d like to be. The truth is, I’ve been figuring it out. What is it that I have been figuring? I’m glad you asked.
\n
First, my wonderful, patient husband, after months of me begging and pleading, figured out how to rewrite the code in the blog theme so that I can have somewhat of a Recipe Index<\/a>. While it’s FAR from finished, it makes me feel like you could actually, say, look for a recipe here. I’ll let you know when I get those previews to be the size I want them, but I’m thrilled that there is something \u2013 anything \u2013 remotely usable on that portion of the site. (Just click on the recipe page or any of its categories \u2013 appetizers<\/a>, bakery<\/a>, etc. \u2013 above to check it out.)

I also added a few new features to the bottom of each post. I know, big deal. Who cares, you say. Well, you might care when I tell you what that first greenish square is there. It’s a print feature! So, if you ever wanted to print out one of those drool-worthy recipes you’ve been reading, you can. It has the option to print without the pictures, conserving ink and paper. We like to conserve here. It’s cheaper. I had to print 16 pages of purple-colored text the other day and I cringed at the thought of my precious ink bleeding onto the pages. Drifting, I am… Print recipes for your recipe card holder, binder, folder, fridge, basket, whatever it is you have for that sort of thing.

\"twitter\"<\/a>THEN, after holding out for something (no, I don’t know what), I finally signed up for Twitter<\/a>. I’d love if you’d follow me. I’ll tell you all about what I’m cooking, what The O6 is doing, what I bought (keep reading). It would make me feel special. I promise to add an icon on that sidebar soon, too.

I have one more little thing to tell you and then I’ll let you get back to your Saturday. I bought a camera. It is a lovely little thing. Now, I’ll have you know that I had my heart set on a Nikon D300<\/a> (and my heart still yearns to have it), but you Canon people have wrangled me in. The $300 off also helped. A nudge or two from multiple Canon users finds me the owner of a Canon 50D<\/a>. And even with this purchase, coming over to the dark…err, the Canon side, I still have dissenters from the Rebel <\/a>users. Yes, I DO hate HD video<\/a>. Well, no, I don’t. But my kids move fast, and shutter speed and frames per second are more important.

\nWhat it means is that I could potentially take a picture of day-old cheesecake that has been sitting in my fridge uncovered and it would look appetizing. Appetizing enough to have eaten some of it for breakfast. I’ll be here trying to figure out the ins and outs of my camera and waiting for my new lens to arrive.
